I have said it before, but naming a baby is really not that easy to do if there are more than one people involved. The meaning of the name and the translation into different languages is a very important aspect of that.

For example, Cohl. Cohl is a very nice name in English, but if you take the Dutch translation it litteraly means cabbage. It would be weird to call your child a vegetable, although I know there are veggies and fruits out there!

Take your time to do some research about the names that you like. You might be pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised by what you find!

Picking a name for your new baby is one of the first things you will do for your child that impacts him or her for the rest of his life.
When we were picking the name of our son, we had a hard time finding a name we both agreed on. A lot of times you find yourseld associating a name with a person. The relation you had with that person will influence your feelings towards the name. "I used to know a so-and-so but he picked his nose". Since nose picking is not one of your favorite memories his name is not likely to end up on the top of your list.
Of course it is also very important to know what a name means and were it came from.
